Extension Services Identifier Help

Help and guidance page for understanding ESA manufacturing industry production analysis and efficiency measurement.

1. General Information

Product Name

Product name is the name of the product produced by the manufacturing industry as a major product. It helps determine the capacity utilization of the manufacturing industry. Supplementary products may also be analyzed to measure production efficiency.

Unit

Unit indicates how the output product is measured. It commonly determines the production capacity per day of the manufacturing industry.

Machine (No)

Indicates the number of machines in the production line.

  • If connected machinery operates on the same production line, the last machine producing the final output is counted.
  • If machines operate independently on separate production lines, the total number of machines is counted.

Date

The date on which the extension service analysis is conducted.

2. Section Capacity

Capacity (Unit/Day)

Capacity refers to the output capacity of machinery per day.

  • For connected machinery, the last machine capacity is taken.
  • For independent production lines, the bottleneck machine with the lowest output determines the capacity.
  • If production depends mainly on operator efficiency, operator performance determines machine capacity.

Shift (No)

Indicates the number of production shifts during the analysis period.

  • Minimum shift: 1 shift (8 hours)
  • Maximum shift: 3 shifts (24 hours)

Shift Duration (Hr.)

Shows the assigned duration of each shift. Shift durations may vary depending on working conditions.

  • Example: First shift = 10 hours
  • Second shift = 4 hours

Down Time (Hr.)

Total time not used for direct production activities.

  • Meetings
  • Machine startup
  • Machine part replacement
  • Maintenance activities
  • Other interruptions to direct production

3. Machine Cycle (Min)

Cycle Time-1 (Min)

Time taken for the first machine cycle to convert input into output.

Cycle Time-2 (Min)

Time taken for the second machine cycle to convert input into output.

Cycle Time-3 (Min)

Time taken for the third machine cycle to convert input into output.

  • If labor directly operates the machine, human production cycle time is measured.

4. Employee Efficiency

Production Workers (No)

Number of workers directly involved in production during analysis.

Production Absentee (No)

Number of absent workers in direct production after production starts.

Admin Worker (No)

Number of administrative workers available during analysis.

Admin Absentee (No)

Number of absent administrative workers during analysis.

5. Production Data

Planned Production (No)

Planned amount of production based on available materials, machinery, and workforce capacity.

  • Indicates how much production capacity can be used for the day.

Actual Production (No)

Actual quantity of products produced at the end of the shift with required quality standards and without rework.
